After graduating from Moscow Energy Institute Mr. Shilan worked on several electrical engineering plants in Russia, Ukraine and Mongolia, during which time he developed and patented several inventions.

Later he was hired as a patent examiner and worked for 12 years in the Russian Patent Office in the Department for electronics and electrical engineering. Head of Group, First Grade Examiner.

Obtained his Bachelor of Law degree in the Federal Institute for Intellectual Property.

13 years as a patent agent and attorney in private patent law firms of Moscow.
